Doubt that much will actually happen (presentation wide).

Perhaps Sophie Raworth has gone there from BBC One; since she hasnt been on the six o clock news all week.

Anyone for News specials on News 24 / World.

ITV also had Robert Moore from the Evening News.

I haven't heard/seen any promotions for BBC News Specials on BBC World, although I did see one for a special on a referendum in Sweden on Sunday I think it was. I'd be very surprised if any news broadcasters adopt special titles and produce special programmes again this year. I've heard many people saying that they don't want overkill again - they accepted that one year on was significant, but there's no need for remembrance coverage every year.

Just out of interest, Is there anything going on tomorrow at the exact time that the Aircraft hit the towers? I'm sure News channels will do something at that time wont they?

I think tomorrow will just go on as a normal news day but there will be more of a focus on this latest Al-Queda footage. News 24 did mention it being the anniversary and I can see them doing just a bit of somethin around the time it happened.

Is there not a moments silence or something planned.

'tmrw'? Tomorrow isn't that hard to type surely.

Anyway, I don't see why people are expecting any changes to the news presentation tomorrow. In America maybe (I'm sure it will be etched on the 'list of news events we must go completely overboard on every single year') but internationally I don't really see that it warrants any significant coverage.

An ackowledgement certainly, a live report from their maybe, but no special programmes or presentation changes - it's just not newsworthy anymore.

Might be the odd silence here and there (1.46pm). There is also a service at Ground Zero which will include the reading of the names of those that died by children affected by the events.

I know in our local paper businesses and shops were asked about their plans with most saying they would only do something if requests were made.

I'm waiting for the next event of 9/11 proportions. It's going to happen - sooner, rather than later I think.

We had Twin Towers on 11th September 2001

Bali on 12th October 2002

???? 13th November 2003

BBC World and BBC News 24 will be combining output at 13.29 for a special programme from New York to make the aniversary. There is also a special at Midnight to mark the sunset when the two towers of light will be switched on. AFAIK there are no special titles or stings.

Has Sian been filling in for Sophie this week??? I wouldn't have thought she's been in New York all week. Last year, IIRC, presenters were dispatched the day before. Maybe she's filming one of her other series?
