The X Factor only sneaking on the list as the audience gets older, and still well below Britain's Got Talent, and indeed the BGT Standby Filler for the 16-20 year olds.

I'm a Celebrity is just astonishing - to have been on air 17 years and still able to grow it's audience. It's in the Strictly mould as in it doesn't really change much from year to year - but just does what it does well and people know what they're going to get. Also shows with the right material you can still draw audiences of 10-12m to TV screens if you tempt them in.

To be fair, some of the BBC and ITV shows did pretty well viewing figures wise last year. Especially the likes of I'm a Celeb, Bodyguard etc.

With how the BBC is pushing younger appealing contestants Strictly should be rising with under 25's.

There's an awful lot of BBC bashing over the young people's viewing patterns. I'd love to see comparators with other linear channels. I doubt that the figures would be much different than Ofcom have discovered in respect of the Corporation's.

ITV2 top because of Love Island surely.
Anyway if Strictly loses viewers next year by introducing same sex couples the younger share might rise as losses will be more among older viewers.

Maybe I’m giving the great British public too much credit, but I’d like to think people these days aren’t quite so bigoted that the sight of two men dancing together on TV causes a mass switch-off.

The vast majority won't but even 5% is 400 thousand viewers and they is a core 15-25% who are homophobic.

Mate if you want to avoid the gays, you’re not going to be watching Strictly already.
Spencer, Capybara and Brekkie gave kudos

Some homophobic members of family still watch it.
Hell homophobic contestants have taken part.

Well there you go then, they'll still be watching as the men dance together. Phew, you had me worried there until you pointed out what a nonsense argument it was.
