OFCOM propose advertising shake up

More regular breaks could be on the way (March 2008)

Similarly though the longer the breaks, the more likely you are to switch - and frankly breaks are long enough as they are. It used to be a case of time to make a cup of tea - now it's time to make THE tea!


I guess the argument for more breaks would be that viewers are more likely to sit through more, shorter breaks than less, longer breaks.

Hey, it's a decade too late.

If they show more commercials then they will chase a younger audience away from the telly onto the internet, where they don't need to put up with this pish, either via legitimate methods (eg iPlayer) or illegal methods. Beyond that tons of people have got Sky+ anyway, making the whole thing pointless.

Have they learned nothing from the music industry?
