What sort of name is Brick FM? That's got to be one of the worst radio station names I've heard

I love how they name all the complaints againsts Sky News as 'Sky News' except 'Sky News with Kay Burley' for 'due accuracy', 'due impartiality' and 'harm'... Laughing

I would love to know the cause of this:

Complaints Assessed, not Investigated

This is a list of complaints that, after careful assessment, Ofcom has de
pursue because they did not raise issues warranting investigation.

Can't help but feel sorry for Rinse FM (what a name) in that bulletin. It hardly seems fair that such a small station can be criticised for not having sufficient playback facilities during a three day lock-out in a period of mass-rioting!

Sounds more like they should have invested in a backup tape / cd which all presenters were taught how to stick on in case of fire alarm / power cut / whatever, rather than having to programme "40 hours" of content to cover the gap to stop the automated systems broadcasting swear words at 6pm.

Could be any number of things. That show is seriously messed up.

My guesses: Mishearing "Pakka" as a racial slur? Or mishearing "mikka" which is something Makka Pakka says? There are also characters called Tit tifers, a NinkyNonk, a PinkyPonk.... any Daily Mail reader with a creative ear can construct at least one complaint out of that lot I'd wager.

Thought I'd dig up this old thread to mention that Jeremy Clarkson's strike comments have been found to be acceptable by OFCOM.

Also looks like the Wright Stuff's Taggart comments have been resolved (page 27 of bulletin)

Just heard it mentioned on the One O'Clock News about Jeremy Clarkson's comments - OFCOM have acklowleged that it was potentially offensive, but when taken in context they were not seriously held beliefs and did not breach any rules.

I'm very glad they've seen it for how it is - I feared they may go along with the daft press taking it well out of context and making a drama about of a simple joke.

Unfortuantely most community stations don't have backup CDs due to the additional equipment (and therefore cost) required on the transmitter end. Backups CD's aren't normally held on the studio end as the idea is the playout system is used in the studio, and can be remotely programmed. Backup CDs are for when all else fails and the studio falls silent, which often means a CD can't be played from the studio either.

Anyways, back to TV...
