HI BARRY SCOTT HERE ITV IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY CILLIT BANG.

This sounds sort of cool, I had an idea like this but I think it's a good idea to sponsor an entire channel...

for the last few years all ITV Christmas programmes have been sponsored by those tablets that stop you form getting indigestion so it's not as if this hasn't been happened already!

So that rules out most channels anyway doesn't it? This means that no terrestrial channel can be sponsored to begin with.

However, looks like channels like Challenge will be getting a fair few offers... Laughing

It's channels like that that are most likely to take up this new sponsorship

But for some reason people seem to just want to talk about ITV and make bad puns

"The sponsor's presence on the channel should not be unduly prominent, and broadcasters will be unable to name channels after the sponsor ."

But ther's nothing to say that a channel couldn't have the sponsors logo on all idents, credits, promos etc is there? as long as its not shown before specific progs, eg news.

Possibly because in the current climate ITV is a very easy target as it is so very US Network like!!!!! - which MANY brits don't want as British TV is supposedly far superior to US!!!!
