Last night in the 8pm junction, BBC TWO used the red background instead of the yellow one for the "coming up across the BBC" menu.

Here's another: the BBC One Scotland trail for River City morphed the red box in the corner into a love heart. Ooooh.

Here's another one:-

ITV1 regional stations don't appear to be using the 'regional' idents anymore. All this week on ITV1Wales there have been no 'beach' or 'valley' idents broadcast before any regional programme!

Is this the same for the rest of the country?

The Valley one was on at 00:00 before 'Taxi nights' (which is treated as a local programme, just like Club Reps as both were not on Wales when Network have them) and 2 seconds after the show started the screen went blank until the 'ITV1 Back Soon' caption came up a little while after! (Shame there is no ITV1 Wales Back Soon caption) before just cutting back to the programme midway through.

Central used theirs before Britain on the Move so I guess ITV haven;t dropped them just yet.

Where is the valley ident filmed? It looks like Merthyr, but I'm not sure. I know for certain, though, that the beach one is in south Pembrokeshire.

Kind of on-topic: I noticed at the end of Friday night's Corrie on the network ITV1, there was no ECP. The screen was cropped and the 'Next/Then/Later' caption appeared, but the announcer said something like 'Let's have a look at tonight's line-up'. It was a pleasant change, though probably wasn't meant to happen - perhaps there was a problem with the ECP or something?

I also noticed that the music didn't fade down properly when the announcer was speaking (this has happened a few times lately). I thought this was supposed to happen automatically when the CA turns the mic on?

Depends on how it's set up. It can be done manually by the announcer (i.e. sound from programmes goes via the continuity suite on a fader and the announcer dips the sound when s/he speaks), manually by the Transmission Controller (i.e. s/he dips the sound when the voiceover is cued) or automatically via an "auto-ducker" system.

CBBC's "SMart" rewound on air this afternoon. Right back past the VT clock to colour bars. Excellent.

Spotted one yesterday between My Family & POV:

Three way 'now' slide appears. Links are for BBC Comedy website, BBC1 and CBBC Channel. For CBBC's 'Kerching!' the announcer says 'it's game-on for Rudeboy in Kerrang!'
Have the BBC1 pres suite been listening to too much rock music?

Noticed a spelling mistake on ITV Nightscreen this morning. Thelma and Louise read "Thelma and Lousie "
