If you own one of the original UK TiVo boxes sold from 2000-2003, then this is a note to tell you that your service ends on 1st June 2011.

Box owners in cabled areas are being advised to upgrade to Virgin Media's new TiVo box.

That DVD Fever Dom fella who posts on ever forum on the Internet apart from this one is going to go absolute ape over this. You mark my words.

So what exactly won't they be able to do after that date? Is it just the listings that stop? If so can't they still be used for recording/playback

He did post on here but was banned because all he did was post links to his thought-provoking videos like "Sian farts on Breakfast!".

They banned him? I knew he was a pest, but he provided some video content that wasn't of any relevance, but as times was slightly amusing. Banning of DVDFever, but no ginofish. Tsk.

I've still got one of those working - back at my parents' house - guess that "lifetime" subscription wasn't quite life Very Happy seriously - one of the most stable PVRs I've ever used despite being pretty basic compared to what you can get now. Although I guess you'll still be able to rewind/pause as the Inspector says, just no listings available? The listings came down the phone line every night as it was a separate device to the Sky/On Digital box so couldn't use their EPG (which DTT didn't even have at that point anyway). I guess it's that bit that'll stop.

He was probably spreading his disease to other members, and to stop it they had to ban him.

DTT has always had an EPG - a now/next one Very Happy

I remember the days when there was a channel on Diamond Cable they referred to as an EPG.

Lifetime usually refers to the lifetime of hardware/pricing option, not your lifetime.
