Very short 'images of the day' on BBC ONE!

itsrobert asked about News24 presenters earlier:
I know for a fact that at 1:00 it started with Sarah Montague and John Nicholson
Then, from this thread, I gather:
2:40ISH Sarah Montague and Huw Edwards
4:00ISH Jane Hill and Huw Edwards
5:00 Jane Hill and Michael Buerk
6:00 Jane Hill and Matthew Amroliwala
7:00 Gavin Esler and Carrie Gracie
7:30 Michael Buerk and Gavin Esler
(now, with only a 45 seconds changeover!),
8:00 Carrie Gracie and Gavin Esler
(the order of names reflects their order of seating).
Worked out by Ian!
As an aside, I taped the Breakfast/News24 changeover today and the 1pm changeover to see Phil on his first day (yes, I know, how sad) - but I am now struck by what Jeremy Bowen said at the very end of Breakfast - along the lines of 'Keep watching News 24, I reckon that today may be a big day for news' . Spooky!

Maybe someone is interested... The Swedish equivalent of the BBC, Swedish Television (SVT), took live coverage from BBC World right after the news of the plane crash broke. It was broadcast both on terrestial tv and on digital news channel SVT24 before leaving for their own coverage.
Apparently a deal was struck after the sept 11 attacks. According to the agreement the SVT can't show just short parts of the BBC broadcasts, like one or two minutes. It has to be more than that.
In Sweden the main commercial competitor to public service SVT, TV4, has the exculsive rights for CNN-coverage which prooved very helpful for that channel on sept 11.
That was why SVT struck the deal with BBC. A cheap deal, according to the SVT head of news, when it's between two public service broadcasters.

HA
He was the 'Face' of N24 for a while: at least during 1999 and 2000 - he was the star of most publicity trailers on BBC Terrestrial and Digital services.
Came back from uni around eight and saw Mishal Husain present BBC World News, a far prettier site then Michael Buerk!

Is Gavin Esler News 24's 'main man'?

I think Michelle Hussain is the replacement for Phillip Hayton, when he transfers full time to co-presenting the 9:00am - 1:00pm slot with Joanna Gosling or Liz Pike on BBC NEWS 24.
