North West Tonight On Location AGAIN!!!

I tried to carry on in my thread 'North West Tonight on Friday', but its been moved to the Archive Forum.

Anyway, North West Tonight had another on location programme tonight!! They were live from Tatton Park, a couple of miles from where I live!!

Stuart Flinders was in Manchester again, and they used a balloon with live continuity announcement saying 'Now on BBC ONE, North West Tonight with Stuart Flinders in Manchester and Gordon Burns in Tatton Park' This followed by Gordon with no headline vamp and it went straight into the titles. A few minutes later, Gordon said 'but now, we go to Stuart Flinders in the studio in Manchester for the latest news in the North West.'

That was about it - most of the team were in Tatton, Gordon and Dianne. Sally probably would have been there, but there was no sports news tonight.

I personally think that the BBC Regions should have special opening titles for special bulletins. I also wish North West Tonight would finish with some end titles before going into the sting and back to London, like some other regions do. North West Tonight don't have proper end titles, as the only time they are needed is the weekend, so they use an extended sting.

Look North in Leeds did a live outside broadcast last night from Skegness with Harry and Paul there. Penny Bustin was in the studio presenting. It was pouring with rain so they had to present from inside!

Penny read the headlines from Leeds then following the titles, Harry said hello then back to Penny. Penny read the 6pm headlines with Harry doing the 'and coming up' at 6.15.

Apparently they are doing live ob's every Thursday through the summer.

Also, I like the end titles of the regional programmes - we get them in Leeds at the end of Saturday's Look North and every day after the lunchtime bulletin and the 3.25 update.

Look North here or in Newcastle don't finish with any titles before going back to London at 6.55. But in Newcastle, they go to a wide shot of their studio over the start of the sting going back to London and then switch just before it fades into the London studio. The same is doing at Ten...

The NWT weather presenter was stopped by police on her way to Tatton this afternoon for using her mobile on the motorway. She was presenting the BBC Radio Merseyside weather at the time.

She wasn't even fined!
