Thanks everyone!

I think South Today's are:

Southampton, Newbury, Oxford, Banbury, Chichester, Weymouth, Brighton, Worthing, Bournemouth, Salisbury, Reading, Winchester, Poole, Portsmouth, Newport (Isle of Wight), and Basingstoke.

I think there are a couple of others, but I don't know which ones off-hand. I'll consult my videotaped edition and report back.

Now then, what about Points West, Spotlight, Look North (Newcastle) and South East Today?

Yep, that South Today list sounds about right. If only I could find THAT video with lots of good stuff on, it had proper full opening titles for the South Today Oxford opt out, with lots of place names on. Smile

If I find it, I'll post the list of places.

Now some more for you:

Look North (Newcastle) -
Jarrow, Gateshead, Newcastle, Sunderland, Richmond, Carlisle, Durham, Darlington, Hartlepool, Stockton On Tees, Recard, Middlesbrough, York. (There are more but I can't think of them - I'm sure a NE & C viewer will be able to help)

Points West -
Swindon, Chippenham, Bristol, Bath, Gloucester, Stroud, Throwbridge, Taunton, Cheltenham, Weston Super Mare, Minehead, Warminster, Wells, Yeovil. (Again, there are a couple more)

Spotlight -
Dorchester, Newton Abbot, Torquay, Truro, Taunton, Barnstaple, Plymouth, Camborne, Exeter, Paignton, Newquay, Penzance, Redruth, St Helier. (Once again, there are a few missing)

Have no idea about South East Today, I'm sure Asa would be kind enough to help with that.

Thanks again for all your hard work writing thse placenames down, I really appreciate it.

Do Scottish and Welsh local news have the same opening titles sequences as for the English regions, or something different?

Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland all have different titles to those used in England.

Wales - Wales Today use blue/red and creme titles. Not dissimilar to those of the national titles.

Scotland - Reporting Scotland use blue/purple titles.

Northern Ireland - Newsline use green/blue titles.

These come from the partriotic colours previously used by the nations. (Wales - Red, Scotland - Blue, Northern Ireland - Green)
