All stations are gone here. Apparently the Kilsdale analogue transmitter has gone down. Loads of people would be affected if true.

You will be aware of thunderstorms in parts of the country. Most relays do not have generators therefore if the power goes off, so does the transmitter. Alternatively, and possibly more seriously, the transmitter itself could have been struck by lightning and damaged.

From the ITV region on his profile, I think he means the North East of England (Tyne Tees Land).

The Cop Hill relay of Emley Moor here in Huddersfield went off during the thunderstorm at about 4.30, phoned BBC Information to let them know, still off at about 7 when I checked.

I was watching at a friend's house in Alnmouth (Northumberland). Channel Five went off, so did the 'spare' channels he had tuned in to a more distant transmitter. I think was Bilsdale or a dependent because he mentioned they used to get Tyne Tees South news on the spare 'ITV' channel.

Alnmouth would be using Chatton according to wolfbane.com

Slightly OT: But can the bad weather affect Digital Cable? We've had no NTL at all since 4.00pm yesterday, you have to like them, we tried ringing them and all of their phone lines were shut!

Well here in the Midlands, Sky was off air for about 2 hours during the height of the storm.
DTT was on a "limited" service, namly BBC Channels.

And everything went off when some idiot starting playing with the power lines, He's still in a critical condition TMK.

Looks like the Bilsdale transmitter has been seriously affected by last night's storms on the North York Moors...

TV seems to be still off, although Century FM on 100.7 is still broadcasting loud and clear off Bilsdale.

I'm in Stockton, and there's no TV here, which indicates that Bilsdale must still be down.
