The last series was definitely in TC1. It was done 'in the round' rather than having the traditional studio seating, with the hexagonal set sitting right in the middle of TC1

I sort of lost interest in House Party by the time they 'went in the round in TC1'. Thanks for the clarification.

The first time I went in TC3 I had difficulty trying to imagine the 'old manor' and how they got it into the space - but, then that is the beauty of wide angle tv camera lenses for you!

NHP question. I'd they pre record the 'wait til I get you home' sections? If not where was the basement set within the studio?

They were definitely recorded, I always assumed that they did a load at the same time and then just made sure that Noel wore the same outfit on the night.

There's no need for the 2 sets to be up at the same time or even record on the same day and there'd be little point setting up the basement set just for one set of parents.

I really didn't realise the first few series were in TC3.. that's incredible set design for a relatively small studio!!!

...and they had a theme park ride in it as well, which means the set was probably not struck in between shows. There are quite a lot of other episodes on youtube, and you can see a definite increase in the size of the set from series 6 onward.
