I take it this idea of all the episodes being uploaded in HD has been dropped?
Which programmes?
It looked like a backlog of Noel's House Party episodes was being uploaded either by Noel or somebody with a connection to the show, hence him dressing up as a woman and having a mental breakdown in a bid to promote it.

Think it may be a case of crossed wires, there was a discussion in this thread about an episode of House Party that was shot using experimental HD cameras (side-by-side to the normal ones IIRC)
Ant and Dec have been very candid about their inspirations, right down to citing Game For A Laugh as the reason for them running down the stairs at the start of each show.

I've been trying to find the interview but it was on one of them talking head story of Saturday Night shows and Ant & Dec said the BBC and ITV were both trying to sign them exclusively during the period they were presenting Friends Like These and SM:TV and they asked to host Noel's House Party and ITV offered it to them therefore they signed with them.

I dunno, maybe they ripped it off from Nick Weir when he did Catchphrase.

Maybe. it certainly worked for him!
There's nothing wrong with affectionate homages but there's barely a single original idea in Saturday Night Takeaway! which, to me, is taking the p*ss a bit. But what do I know? people seem to like it so maybe I'm being unreasonable in wanting at least a little bit of originality from the supposed best in the business. I just don't think SNT is Ant & Dec at their best but everyone else seems to disagree.

Don't get me wrong I like Saturday Night Takeaway and watch it if I'm in on a Saturday night as it is a good show but I agree 100% that it's not them at their absolute best, Ant and Dec at their best nowadays is either during I'm a Celebrity links or the auditions of Britain's Got Talent where they can muck about a bit and ad lib especially with terrible auditions or on Britain's Got More Talent playing games or mucking around backstage with Stephen Mulhern. You could still probably argue that while that is them at their best now that is still restrained compared to them on SM:TV Live.
