They could have cut the house party down to September to week before Christmas or January to May or whatever. This would have given Noel time to be a business man and still come up with good ideas for the programme. It seemed to be far too padded out in the last 2/3 series, cutting the running time by 5 or 10 minutes might have helped
According to the Mirror, his new TV show is about to be axed, before it has even started.
Quote:
Noel Edmonds’ controversial eccentric behaviour may have cost him his prime-time TV comeback - after he lashed out at This Morning hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby .
The outspoken Deal or No Deal host had been lined up for a “huge” new show on a mainstream terrestrial channel, the Sunday People reports.
But close friends fear nervous television executives are about to pull the plug claiming the millionaire star can’t stop pressing the “self-destruct button.”
....He stunned viewers of ITV’s This Morning by revealing that his dad Dudley, who lost his battle with cancer 26 years ago, had “died of ignorance.”
If this is the supposed show with Alan Carr, he denied this himself even though numerous papers claimed otherwise. Then again he also insisted DOND was being renewed even though the papers also claim otherwise.

I guess we have to take it with a pinch of salt. However lots of the "internet" are saying new DOND episodes have not been filmed since last April?
That is true and there are still a few months worth in the can to be broadcast at some point, though C4 favoured back to back series of Fifteen to One over burning them off.
They've all been recorded, so therefore Endemol have been paid, so it's up to Channel 4 to show them, or write off the budget by not broadcasting the show.
They wouldn't get the full cost back from Sky by given Challenge first run rights. And you are ignoring the fact that it's not a Challege commission, and the 'syndication' rights are with Endemol rather than Channel 4 - who get loose change, fluff and a polo mint from the pocket of any other channel repeat rights deal - if indeed Channel 4 get anything if the deal isn't brokered though Channel 4 sales.

Welcome to the world of 'non broadcast pilots' getting in the papers as 'the next big tv hit' that, once though the edit suite, looks a bit rubbish and is never heard of again...
It's also worth noting that the (relatively small in the scheme of things) cost of whatever prizes were won in those months do not have to be paid out until the episodes are broadcast.
If anything, the plug should have been pulled before the 'walk out protest' edition in that series. But, as I think Noel has said before, when you are the top it's difficult to stop - but that is precisely the mindset you need to adopt during the last season of shows, and go out with good memories for the viewers, rather than drifting viewing figures and a sense of those that were still watching (in what would be classed today as a healthy set of numbers) "it was all better a couple of years ago"
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, however instead of walking out he would have been better seeing that series out and then 'resting' the show. Ant & Dec managed to do this successfully with Takeaway when it was starting to go downhill.
