Unique Television appears to be registered to an address in Cheshire and has in its history of officers at Companies House a certain Mr Noel Ernest Edmonds, though it has to be said he is not listed at the moment in any capacity at any company, not that that means anything.

Not suprising, Unique was Noel's company. Their name appeared on the later series of Noel's House Party and Telly Addicts (as well as the variants on the Telly Addicts format on Challenge in the early 00s). I think the "It started with Swap Shop" thing a while back was made by them too.

Unique owns the rights to NHP and Mr Blobby (at the time, it was a joint venture between BBC Enterprises and Unique - maybe BBC Worldwide still has some claim)

We really didn't realise what a public service C4 was doing in keeping him busy for ten years with Deal or No Deal.

I feel I have to mention Noel and his magic cancer curing mat Rolling Eyes

The headline on a previous version of that BBC story referred to him as Noel Edmunds . Part of me hopes he saw that, and seethed.

Might be worth a listen to Jeremy Vine shortly. He's discussing Edmonds' twitter comments and is hoping to be able to speak to him.

He appeared on This Morning today, and came across quite well in my opinion (he also revealed he has recently beaten cancer).

This isn't really the forum for this sort of debate but I don't like the idea of people being thought of as mentally unstable just because they believe positive thinking can be beneficial to one's health.

It's a scientific fact that the movement of synapses in your brain and the way neurons fire won't assist in the killing off of abnormally growing cells elsewhere in your body.

It's not so much he's wrong in saying positivity is key to recovery - the doctors who spoke on TM and Radio 2 agreed it plays a part - but it's his ignorance and adamance that this is something that only apparently happened for him, and he's choosing to ignore even the manufacturer's statement that the "magic box" doesn't cure cancer. He isn't aware of the dangers of people rushing out to buy this box and rely on its supposed abilities and shunning proper treatment.

It's illegal to claim that something 'cures' cancer which is presumably why he and the manufacturers of the product use the word 'tackles'.

Of course a positive attitude can help recovery but all that stuff about positive and negative energy is nonsense.

Remember kids: join your local Skeptics group. It's fun and you can talk about this and other hilarious alternative medicine "cures"

Edmonds posts on the Digital Spy forums under the username Glorious 12th, mainly on the BBC Four Top Of The Pops thread.

I'm not sure how many DS users know (or care) that it's him, as his posts often get ignored. He sometimes gets into petty, personal squabbles with other users.

It's a bit sad (and I don't mean that in a sarcastic way) to see him so getting so hung up on the past and what others now think of him. All very "Alan Partridge: Bouncing Back".

And yet in one of his more recent posts, referencing Kenny Everett's personal life and what he went through coming out, he says nobody should want to hark back to the 70s or 80s.

Is there any credible evidence it's Noel?
