Noel on Strike

And other Noel-related gubbins, by the looks of it (January 2018)

From my experience, the three words that instantly makes me think a tabloid is writing a bunch of fairytale wank is "a source told".

Surely you don't even need those words. Merely being in a tabloid is usually enough for that.

A wonderful episode compared to the last 20; the production values are alot stronger, and it just feels faster...

We get a decent episode for once, it just feels so tight.

That set with the secret walls/fun fair ride must have been a nightmare to strike.

But so creative, I doubt we’ll see anything on that scale again.

Do you mean, strike and rebuild the set every week? or striking the set at the end of this final run?

Just a set as creative and elaborate as that to be used for a weekly entertainment programme.

I've always thought that the Noel's House Party set was an underrated piece of work.

Each week. So much detail involved.

Series 5 uses the fun fair ride/trip around the house notably less than series 4. It's entirely possible that this was due to the budget being cut (the supporting cast disappears almost entirely that year) or diverting the money elsewhere (like the giant fan Grab a Grand, and the international Gotchas). So setting it up and the work involved to do the "stunt" each week presumably did cost a bit.

I would have thought House Party would have just remained up in one studio for the run. If they managed to book one of the five main Television Centre studios, they could have the set up for the entire run from October until March?
