Live bingo is on the cards for ITV
ITV is set to replace its controversial late-night premium-rate phone-in competitions with live interactive bingo TV shows. The scandal-hit broadcaster is understood to be finalising details for the show, which could be announced as early as next month ... To play, viewers would download cards from the internet and use them to play games that would be screened during the evening. The Bingo TV show will replace ITV Play, the firm's discredited late-night phone-in programme which will be off the air by the end of nest year.

Sunday Express... take that with a pinch of salt.

Bet they wish it was hosted by the dream team of Di Spencer and Maddie McCann...

I don't see the difference really - people would still be having to pay surely.

The point is that the Daily Express are obsessed with Diana and Madeline.

Although it has to be said that ITV's potential to host late night bingo has been reported elsewhere (probably Media Guardian, but i'm not 100%).

Well, if ITV DO go ahead with bingo......in my opinion they should have Greg Scott who currently presents Big Box Bingo live on Sky 157, Tuesday evenings.
He's real funny and has a great personality. In fact, deserves a peak time show! Smile

Oh fab, telebingo is very popular here in Ireland. My parents play it "twice a week" as the song went. I think I'd play!

I remember L!VE TV gave TV Bingo a go, but it was awful, saying that all of L!VE TV's output was awful.

I don't see after 12.30/1.00am why they cannot repeat the previous night's programmes and then Nightscreen from whenever that ends until 5.30am.

The days of original Late Night programming, is long gone I'm afraid, but what's the point of bothering when there's no audience? Just make do with what you've got is the best bet IMO.

Bingo might work but its going to be tarred with the same brush as the premium rate scandal if you phone up to participate on an 0901 number. It'll probably work better on an 0871 number, these are just 10p a minute and none of this "all calls will be charged whether selected or not" stuff. For Bingo and Roulette all entries are usually accepted because getting through isn't part of the actual gamble Smile

Roulette seems to be where things are going at the moment, most of them are charged at national rate and seem to enjoy an active membership. Perhaps ITV can have a crack at that if they're insistent on having participation TV all night.
