No ident....

Last Night something unusual happened. I'm not sure what programme was being introduced but after a programme promo there was no animated ident on BBC One Scotland. There was a still of the balloon next to a Scottish Castle with the logo at the bottom. There was no music and the C/A just went staight in to her script.

Anyone know why this was.

Yeah, I noticed that too.... was it maybe Have I Got News For You? That's the only programme I remember watching on BBC 1 last night.

Yep, its a static slide used whenever the ident machine breaks down

BBC One viewers in England have a still of English 2 / South Downs and BBC Two has a still of the Blade ident.

Dodgy opt for the news on South East Today this evening. We get a second of the UK Today BBC One ident before cutting to ours then at the end, music takes ages to come up and we fade into the closing titles of UK Today!

On the subject of idents, BBC ONE North West had an announcerless one before North West Tonight today. Nigel had to say 'Hello I'm Nigel Jay'.

And he looked rather uncomfortable saying it, like he was just put on the spot! Mind u, could just be because I'm used to him saying 'Nigel Jay with the news in the north west'
