Do wish these performers / production team would give us the chance to decide what we want to see, instead of their own selections?

We'll add John Lloyd & Rowan to the list, along with David Jason & James Bolam for being annoying so & so's over their past material!

in the 'corpses look amusing' website it states that editing was done around non removable credits, which rather answers my original question

I wasn't old enough to see Not The Nine O'Clock News in its original format and after what I've read on the forum, it is very disappointing the way sketches were edited for those 1995 compilations which were my first viewing of Not The Nine O'Clock News. I wonder if the BBC will eventually release the full series, regardless of what John Lloyd thinks. I was also disappointed not to see a proper NTNOCN episode last week - again, just another complilation.

How did they decide, when making the compilations, which sketches were the best? I have just watched The Ayatollah Song on YouTube and it is hilarious! As well as the Failed in Wales and Made from Wales "adverts", I have heard there was a third called "Laid in Wales" - another sketch left off the compilations.

A box set is due to be released this year, apparently.

Let's hope Wikipedia is right. NTNOCN deserved a proper release years ago. There are also a number of shows that the BBC haven't released, but have given to cheap labels like Playback who make a real mess of the releases.

You'd be surprised how much truth emerges from that site.
