Correct me if I'm wrong, but ITV have no problem selling advert time. The only reason they have none overnight is because they can show a certain amount a day and choose to show them during the daytime, when they can charge more money to advertisers. Is that not correct? I'm sure they could easily sell advert slots overnight if they wanted.

Indeed. Even Nightscreen gets 100,000 viewers which is what the top rated programme on Paramount gets and they have no trouble selling ad space.

Shocked

Are we sure they're conscious?

The night time programming is normally the rejects of the day/prime time slots anyway. Can't wait for Celebrity Wrestling to be on there, see them try to sign that! But seriously, I remember when ITV used to have a lot of 'yuff' programming, which they repeat now and then today (Get Stuffed), and the classic american gladiators. Bring back Spitting Image and put that on back to back with 2d-TV, and never bring back 'Blank screen', altho I did like the theme tune!

Indeed. Fancy a quick kip on the sofa? Put ITV Nightscreen on, turn off the lights, and get your head down for half an hour or so...

No it isn't. All the stuff on nightime is specially commissioned. You are talking about the 11pm/11.30pm 'graveyard' slot. Nightime doesn't start until about 12.30am traditionally.

They shouldn't have a seperate brand, but they should have a special ident, just a normal one a bit darker would do. The strand felt much better when they had the big hearts 'ITV1' logo, with live continuity during the week and the same recordings week in week out at the weekend

I've watched Trisha on many occasions at 2am, don't know if I should say that! But apart from the end of the week where it is normally some 'unique' programming, cybernet, entertainment now. CD:UK is repeated at least twice, and the real good life.

They do need to sort nighttime out.I actually like ITV Nightscreen,it's like Teletext, but without letters missing! But they need to have some distinction between day and night. At this rate they'll start having adverts overnight!

It isn't anything like Teletext. At one time it was, and then it looked like it could, but probably wasn't made on Powerpoint. Now its much more advanced

Ahh, After Hours on Teletext. The service which broadcasted after 11pm on ITV and only lasted just two months before getting a few complaints to the ITC by some viewers and dropped straight after.
