When ITV1 relaunches[IFit does], will they have a nighttime ident?

They do need to sort nighttime out.I actually like ITV Nightscreen,it's like Teletext, but without letters missing! But they need to have some distinction between day and night. At this rate they'll start having adverts overnight!

Maybe they could actually give it a name, like they did up until the moving lights came about.I think they should call it ITV ON [OverNight]. I made some idents for it!

What does everyone think?

ITV1 Nightime, called that but not actually branded as that, as there are far too many brands. An ident like 99-02 would be nice, where it is only branded ITV1 but is a special ident for nightime.

It might work having a different name for Night Time.As long as they scrap ITV Day!

I think ITV ON is a good name. Maybe have live action backgrounds behind the logo. In paint i've done a sunset for the start of OverNight at 11.59,some fire at 3.25,a motorway for before Nightscreen and a sunrise [from the big breakfast titles!] for before GMTV.

... firstly, ITV Nightscreen has not looked like Teletext for many years. And ITV struggle to fill the day with adverts. Rolling Eyes

Bring back those dancing neon people we had in London during the 90's. They had a different ident for the different types of programmes.

Carlton had live continuity overnight, but LWT's was prerecorded but sounded better as it was very dramatic:

"And now what's hot and what's not in the world of fashion, music, and style across the continent. If it's in Europe and it's worth knowing (dramatic pause) then it will be in The Big E"

Sad I can remember a 10 year old announcemnt word for word but can I remember my home phone number?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but ITV have no problem selling advert time. The only reason they have none overnight is because they can show a certain amount a day and choose to show them during the daytime, when they can charge more money to advertisers. Is that not correct? I'm sure they could easily sell advert slots overnight if they wanted.

I've always wondered why channels feel the need to be on if theres no advert time and no programmes to show why not just close and tell cun7s to get to bed?
