Nickelodeon has a 90s strand in the US called The Splat, it airs overnight on TeenNick. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Splat
Nick at Nite US is home to classic sitcoms.
Everything on Nickelodeon UK must be suitable for kids so Nick at Nite UK is really just a new name for Nick's evening schedule. it won't be like the US version or the channel that was promised in 1993.

The Middle is still airing on ComedyXtra at the same time as Nickelodeon, Xtra airing a Season 6 episode, Nick the first or Season 5, then they're repeating it, um, 24 and a half hours later.
The schedule on Sky's EPG has changed again, now reading:
7pm See Dad Run
7:30 Instant Mom
8pm True Jackson VP
8:30pm Neighbours
9pm The Middle
9:30pm See Dad Run (repeat of 7pm episode)
10pm Victorious
10:30pm and 11pm The Thundermans
11:30pm Bella and the Bulldogs
While I didn't expect it to be anything like the US Nick at Nite (we instead of course got what launched as The Paramount Channel, now Comedy Central), I thought they might have put a bit more effort into it with some new (to Nick) shows rather than simply rebranding a five hour chunk of the schedule and reusing the same shows.

TNT took over from Cartoon Network at 7pm, not Nickelodeon. Later morphed into Turner Classic Movies.

In 1993 I recall Nickelodeon (on Sky Analogue anyway) finished at 7pm and TNT channel took over. That's purely from memory though. Could that be why Nick at NIte never materialised back then?

I suspect it effectively evolved into Paramount Channel during development - they were operated by the same company after all. This was the early 1990s after all, there may have been concerns with associating a children's television brand with adult (I mean that in the broadest sense of the word!) programming.
Of course, the problem with that theory is that Paramount didn't arrive till two years after Nickelodeon.

When Paramount launched it was very different to the proposed Nick at Nite. "The Paramount Channel" showed a mix of programmes including drama, comedy and even some Anime. It quickly began to focus on old US sitcoms though, and evolved in to Paramount Comedy. That was much more like Nick at Nite.
One of the problems that scuppered Nick at Nite UK was The Family Channel's ownership of the MTM library. In the early/mid 90s this made up a lot of what they showed in the US but they couldn't get the rights in the UK.
By the late 90s Nick at Nite US had moved on to series like Cheers, Wings and Taxi which all appeared on Paramount over here.
