RIP Nicholas Parsons. You'd never have realised he was as old as he was just from listening to him on Just a Minute. Wonder if at the funeral those giving eulogies will in memory of Nicholas speak for a minute without hesitation, repetition, or deviation.

Should hold a special tribute show to him on Radio 4 where everyone pays tributes to him using the Just the Minute rules.

Very sad to hear of Nicholas' passing. The best thing about Nicholas... damn.

Repetition of any word in the topic is allowed. Hesitation though...

RIP to a great

He didn't sound as old and was a sharp as a tack, but seemed to suddenly look his years and seem a fairly frail in recent years.

A great comic foil and straight man. I remember hearing Paul Merton say that when he was on Frost on Sunday one of the other guests, a foreign politician I think, said 'can I ask you a question? Why does everyone hate Nicolas Parsons?'

Apparently he had a fall on a train last summer in Scotland, that triggered his demise unfortunately - Gyles Brandreth, BBC News at time of announcement.

Here he is doing some proper acting in the 1989 Doctor Who story The Curse of Fenric. I'd only known of him as a presenter at the time (I think my aunt was on Sale of the Century once), so it was something of a revelation:

I think he only missed two episodes of Just a Minute, both in the last couple of years.

News has just broken that Just a Minute and Sale of the Century host Nicholas Parsons has died aged 96 after a short illness.

Very sad news, but what an incredibly fulfilled life.

It is sad news. He was a good sport too, a superb straight man cameo in the Comic Strip film, 'Mr Jolly Lives Next Door'.

RIP Nicholas

I caught that one night on UK Gold years back when I was channel hopping and couldn't sleep, was one of the strangest things I've ever seen, but hilarious 🤣

Yes this is well worth a watch! Might rewatch it tonight actually.

I met Mr Parsons back in the 80s, and he was one of the nicest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. He’ll be dearly missed.

I wonder if Just a Minute will end? Or if they’ll get a new host?

He was a professional right to the end. I also remember him from this appearance, in a car advert in 1988. I just wish I'd had the chance to meet him.
