I know that the style of reporting on Newsround is different (cuz it's aimed at kids, obv), and I know that Newsnight isn't exactly a 'news bulletin' - mor like a 'news and current affairs orientated programme' - but they really ougt to have the BBC corporate look!

Neither should use the main BBC News studio, but retain their own studio, with their own interpretation of the corporate look (like Breakfast has). Whereas Newsround should take on yet another remix of the basic BBC News theme, I think Newsnight shoul rearrange their existing theme at a pace suitable to add the underlying beat of the BBC News theme to.

It would also be a nice touch if the logo at the bottom of the screen during generic Newsround looked like: C(B)(B)(C)NEWS

I was thinking the same about them being non generic yesterday!

Because neither Newsround or Newsnight are made by BBC News...
If you look at the end credits it says simply 'BBC'. Not 'BBC News'.
There's no reason for them to be generic.

So why does the 10 O' Clock News always advertise the fact that Newsnight is 'starting now on BBC Two'?

I disagree! I think the past few weeks, Newsrounds has covered the big stories excellently. Yeah, there's the cringe-making editions based all around some popstars, the latest release or their website but some excellent issues and stories have been tackled in a sensitive way recently! I'll stop now... Smile

Well tell them to put a BBC News logo at the end of it!

Anyway, they'd never replace the ace Newsnight music.

I thought *I* was the only one annoyed at CBBC thinking everyone under 18 is obsessed with animals, trees and global warming.

I think the different style news shows should have a different identity, I am not one for generic looks anyway.

From what I could gleam, Newsnight is pretty proud of its independent status from the generic BBC News. They like to be different... because they are different from generic BBC News...
