BBC London (still Newsroom South East) has not gone air!

The announcer said: that we could watch UK TODAY - Something is going on!

more likely the opt button has failed ... it's dodgy ...
they clipped the top of the headlines and a couple of brekkie bulletins have failed recently

Perhaps some sort of tech problem, the 6.58(ish )Breakfast bulletin also failed to air this morning - and that was not the first time this week either.

Nicky: Any idea if UK Today will still be produced after the regions are available on DSAT, and if not what will BBC One England take during the opts?

So it was the 'We're sorry but we're unable to show your regional programme. Instead stories from the UK, today?'

Cheers, Asa

I had my DTT on, and we actually got the Sky Digital announcement about pushing TV and button 1 for regional viewing, but the same went out on analogue too as both were carrying UK Today.

If NSE failt to opt then analogue Network will go out on analogue, and digital network will go out on digital terrestrial.

Analogue network read the apology 'We're sorry we can't join your local programme, but please stay with us for stories from across the UK' before UK Today (as it should always be opted out of by everyone, and will only be heard if someone fails to opt)

Digital network broadcast the 'Press TV and button 1 for your local programme, or stay here for UK Today' as this announcement is actually broadcast on satellite.

If a region fails to opt - the press TV and button 1 announcement will be heard on digital terrestrial (as this is fed from the digital network) - and will be wrong (as the analogue programme will not be available)

(The only time this doesn't happen is if either analogue or digital BBC One presentation are not running and the two networks are merged - in that case the analogue apology should be ditched, and the digital 'Press TV and Button 1' announcement broadcast on both networks... Not so good for analogue regions who fail...)
