The more eagle-eyed of you in the south east of England will have no doubt noticed that Newsroom South East is now coming from their new studio in Central London. You can see the background is a CSO. They've also moved to digital technology like News 24, BBC World, East Midlands Today.
Wonder how many minor mistakes there will be over the next week or so.

At 1333 on Monday they have already had 2 mistakes on Newsroom SE. No live link on top story and then due to this the autocue was showing the wrong story and the poor girl had to read from her paper script. Now as I am writing this they have just re-established the link and run a package with the wrong aspect ratio.
I thought they were in a different studio. Is it me or is the desk and background completely new?
And for silly people like me, can someone explain CSO?

I thought the breakfast bulletin looked a bit different today; the sidebar had moved back to the left hand side and the background image had moved across slightly to show the Houses of Parliament instead of the London Eye.

CSO: Colour Separation Overlay.
The posh name for using a blue screen behind the presenter. A computer/vision mixer 'keys-out' the blue so that another image will appear there. Often the viewer can tell if CSO is being used, as a fuzzy edge appears around the presenter.

Is NSE still using the same set that they had up at Elstree, or is it a new one with a different design?! Do we know if the new programme will be called London Live?! I presume we can quite safely say now, though, that whatever it's called, the BBC London news programme WILL be corporate?!

Also none of you have mentioned the fact that you can here the background sound of the newsroom like on bbc news 24.
and all of it is very cramped, even the camera views.
I think this is only temporary while the get the London Live and South East Today studios ready.

Yes, we have widescreen! Both the clock at 6.00 and the insert into the headlines were both in 16:9, but the studio shot seems very strange, the background looked very small and Mike Embley looked very large.
Sorry if I'm losing track, but does this then make the South East the first English region in 16:9?
