Yes I saw him doing the one while in the pub skiving PE, lol. Good to see him back.

Is Jon Sopel like the Sian Williams of the male newsreaders? There a re very few BBC News programmes he hasn't done.

A rather big rumour is going round at the moment, consisting of the departure of Huw Edwards, Dermot taking over the 10 and Simon whats his name (natashas sky ex-partner) taking over breakfast. Baring in mind it was in a **nameless** tabaloid, im not too sure.

Well, where would Huw go? Sounds a little fishy to me...

Sounds a tad fishy to me too - I can't see Huw leaving the 10 any time soon. I like the idea though - I've never liked Dermot at Breakfast, and think his talents would be far better suited to the late night bulletin.

I think Simon, Bill, Natasha and Sian should do Breakfast on a kind of rota system, in the way we saw in the days of Andrew Harvey and Justin Webb - no fixed days, but they could do different days with different partners, to mix things up a bit. I thought it was a little strange when the BBC decided to bring Simon to Breakfast - a third presenter seems a little unnecessary to be honest, and I suspected that either Dermot or Bill might be being moved/sacked.

Huw cant leave! He suits the ten - unless its just I've become used to him saying 'tonight we will be analysing....' after the main headline every weekday. Dermot would definately suit a main bulletin rather than breakfast and with any luck Bill will be moved to a main bulletin when Simon moves to breakfast...

By the way, is there a copy of the article from which this "rumour" emerged anywhere?

If anyone reads the daily mail it was in mondays "wicked whispers"

I think Huw would be better on the Daily Politics, than the 10. I also agree Dermot would suit the 10 better than Breakfast. As long as Huw stays at the Beeb I'm happy!

If Dermot went back to ITV and John Suchet / Martin Stanford / Chris Roberts from Sky came to the BBC, I'd be even more happier!

George is doing tonight's Ten. Could anything be read into this...

Probably not - Huw's away, Fiona can't do it nor could Michael or Peter. Bill was available to do the Six, so they got George in to do the Ten. Simple.

By my previous post I meant whether the rumours that Huw had/is going to leave the BBC are true.
