I guess "we'll be bringing it to you live..." is quite over-used, as is "Well, <Juliet Bremner> joins me now, live from Australia... Juliet..."
I'm just wondering though... are these phrases really overused or are we just imagining it? Obviously some phrases are used a lot like ITV News' "All that, when we come back" but what about the others?
Take a phrase you heard on some of the breaking news that nearly everyone saw - like September 11th or the Saddam statue being toppled - we saw it live then and probably hundreds of times since then the clips have been played, either on later news programmes, remembrance services and documentaries - even on promos for Sky. If a phrase is used on the clip, like "News is just coming in that..." and the clip is played a few times a week for a few months then it's likely to become embedded in our minds.
Does that make sense?

"NEWSNIGHT!!! is starting now over on BBC Two BUT... from the ten o'clock news... Thanks for watching, good night."
Further to my point above, I'm not sure if this stick in my mind because they actually say it every night, or whether it's down to the fact that I have an MP3 of Peter Sissons saying that very thing on my computer.
It's strange because just after reading this thread, I sifted through some files on my PC completely at random and came across the file...

Because I do.
Pretty far.
How about mispronouncing advertisement?
Or saying 'a myriad of'?
Or 'comprises of'?
Or confusing 'borrow' and 'lend'?
Oh, I could go on all night, but at least I was just making a joke. <sigh>

How do you?
I usually point at them and say, "that thing". God they're ugly.
Scone rhymes with gone. Pronounce it any other way and we'll fetch the spade.
What about nougat?
That'll be a good read. I found your other one, "Shouldn't This Be In The Other Forum..? : How To Disguise Witchcraft in Semantics" impossible to put down.

Glad we can agree on something, TVD.
I don't - it's nasty horrible stuff which gums your teeth together and should only be used as a replacement for Polyfilla.

Ah, so you'd be one of the two people who bought that - I suspect the other one is 'New Improved Johnnyboy' (who seems to have disappeared again).
