Anyone see a promotion for this after Corrie? Apparently its going to be a satirical look a news events and hosted by Trevor McDonald.

I'm instantly thinking its going to be like Daily Show with Jon Stewart but with a humourless presenter. Not that Jon Stewart makes me laugh but...you know what I mean.

When Trevor did HIGNFY he said Marcus Brigstocke was employed by the BBC to make Anne Robinson look funny. Well it seems ironicly that ITV are doing this with Sir Trevor if the ads anything to go by.

I remember the Trevor Mcdonald 'Gotcha' and he came across as a right misery!

From what I remember they showed his gotcha but he didn't bother turning up at the studio, sorry I mean at the houseparty Smile

From the trailer I saw tonight it looks rather contrived. As far as newsreaders presenting satirical shows, they have to be able to bring charisma to the show instead of being all newsy. Kinda like Moira Stuart on HIGNFY, frighteningly false.

I like Sir Trev, I just hope that News Knight doesn't turn to be as contrived as ITV's last piss poor attempt, Get A Grip.

Does anyone remember the pilot ITV did for a topical comedy show with John Sergeant?

It was truly dire.

How should the title be pronounced? Is it pronounced the same as Newsnight , or should it be News by a silly English Knnnnn-igt!!! ?

Is this the same Trevor MacDonald who needed about 50 takes per scene on HIGNFY just to get it right?

He seems terrible without a script.

Or Trinidad knight Wink

Seems a bit strange, Trevor doing this once a week, then doing a serious current affairs programme Tonight... twice a week! Not that Sir Trevor has much input into the latter programme Wink

Yeah, they need to do something about the Tonight programme - give Sir Trev some cutting interviews to do or something.

Big Trev does the interviews when warranted, like when he interviewed that female soldier held captive by the Iranians. There have been other occasions.

Other than that, why should he ? It's the most popular current affairs programme on TV, I assume that viewers are tuning in for reasons other than Trev topping and tailing the programme.
