well the 25th and 26th are really the normal presenters, including, Maxine Mawhinney, Jane Hill, Carrie Gracie, Matthew Amroliwala, Gavin Esler and Valerie Sanderson - all presenting on their own. Breakfast have a few interactives, i.e. Susanna Reid. Yes, Alastair does do News Interactive, it rings a bell now!

I wonder who will be presenting BBC World on these days, now that I have the joys of it!

That's a bit of a career downturn. Going from presenting DW Journal to BBC News 24! From a few million viewers to about 5 in a matter of a few days.

Poor sod must've been sacked from DW. Can't think why.

Sky are looking for a new present since Partridge has been sacked. Would be nice to see Alistair presenting on the channel again.

Alastair Yates presented BBC World News and The World Today on BBC World from 1996 - 1998/1999.

Previously, was also a launch co-presenter on Sunrise on Sky News in 1989.

Since 1999, he hasn't been seen on-screen AFAIK.

He may well be a freelance, if he was working somewhere else so recently.

I think you might be seeing a fair bit more of Mr Yates over the next few months.
As some have mentioned he was a regular presenter on BBC World a few years ago.

He wasn't a launch presenter on Sunrise because Sky News launched at 6.30 in the evening. Anyway, Bob Friend and Penny Smith were the original Sunrise presenters.

He left BBC World to work for DW-tv in Berlin, the Anglo-German news and current affairs channel that currently gets more viewers than BBC World (but not Sky News) in Europe.

Well I hope he does overnights - it'll be nice to see a male doing them again. I used to like Clarence Mithcell and Rageh Omaar before they both moved on. They were really good, IMO.
