I just noticed it there, and it looks great! I wonder if they'll have to get rid of it for the World output. Well done News 24!

it was there when i watched at lunchtime - so i would imagine it was maybe put up during breakfast. i was very suprised when i saw it, given the bbc world overnights. and yet bbc one/two news studio broadcasts to the uk only - but there is no tree??

Excellent - well done News 24! Is this the first year they've decided to do it? Someone made a good decision there....

Cheers, Asa

Very nice to see a tree on News 24 this year.

I'm guessing that for the overnights, the tree will be moved off set during the half hour programme (usually World Business Report I think) on World and News 24 in the leadup to the first joint broadcast from the newsroom. You'll be surprised just how easy it is to move a tree like that despite all the decorations.

Either that or the overnight news bulletins will come from the World studio (we can hope!)

I love it Asa!

Now a cynic would assume you were replying to the post above and meant:-

'Well done News 24 for making it wonky'.

NO chance of that I'm afraid:(

Sources suggest the tree is the one from the Breakfast studio transplanted into News 24.
Also sources suggest that it will not be taken off overnight, instead tight shots will be used to keep it out of view of World viewers apart from the brief shot at the top of the hour!

Still think its bleeding ridiculous that they don't show the tree but not getting into an argument about it!

BTW: Not said it yet but it is a nice tree!
