That's an odd aston, the way it comes on screen, it looks like's it's going to hit the presenters head! Smile

And has done many a time. Even better is when it fires off on a two shot and completely covers one of the presenters heads Shocked

I especially liked the text so small it didn't reach across the black bit, and the tiny LIVE widget on top of the much bigger clock Smile That being said, the little location thingy is an improvement

ooooh - I like the new writing on the BIG astons. Why is it not transparent anymore though? I love the new location aston and live graphic. If this ticker is small enough (ala Sky, not ITV) is run rpoperly and isn't just garbage (i.e. ITV) or innane (Newsround/Fox) I might not be as mean about it.

The BIG aston must become transparent again though - the opaque one on at the minute is horrid.

edit - actually looking again I would say that the location bar should always be at least the wdith of the DOG and then grow from that. The Kent one looked daft in 16:9 but ridiculous in 4:3

It could just be me, but the other day the quality of the straps seemed to improve tenfold - the red line appeared to be straight, right across the screen, rather than the occasionally fuzzy mess.

And no, dears, I have not just re-connected my SCART leads.

It used to be noticeable when N24 simulcast on Beeb1 - that the quality on 1 was better than N24. Now there's no difference.

Heh. Saddo-factor perhaps a little too obvious in that post.

The font on the Information Straps has changed. I think its the BBC Sport Font!

Would it be asking too much for News 24 to adopt some stylish graphics that don't look shoddily put together?

Something is happening thats for sure, if its just a ticker perhaps a new look for the graphics is being introduced along side, which could be related to the replacement of the beige titles for National and News 24 News

where is the ticker going to go?
they would not have spent time moving stuff around to only have to move it again when they have the ticker.

from the screen dump from above there is nowhere for it to go

The lack of transparency and the different font could be because the Aston GREEN Character Generator, which the ticker will be generated from, and possibly other graphics on the channel, might not have been fully configured yet.
