Hmmm. I'm willing to admit that my TV isn't that well set up, and therefore could well have been a very pale red rather than overtly pink. But that cap is so over-saturated that you really can't tell properly from it.
Erm, even I think this getting too geeky now, and I wear a Skutter T-shirt. So I'll shush.

The ticker appears - on a RED background (not pink) - at around hh:45 during programmes like Hardtalk.
Not much different from the old ticker, but much more news and does it automatically from News Online.

Could somebody tell me what times this ticker appears please?
Whenever I have watched News 24 it hasn't been there!
Thanks,
Joel.

Anyone else noticed the way that 'two handers' at News 24 are working far more as a team?
Tonight during Jon & Philipa, both were interviewing the correspondent in Jerusalem, and he was saying, "That's right, Jon" and "Yes, Philipa".
They've also both been having banter with Sport/Business.
Before it seemed as if they were sitting next to each other, and they'd acknowledge each other at the top of the hour by saying each other's names, but that was it. If one was interviewing, the other was getting ready for their bit, if one was having banter, the other would smile almost disapprovingly as an outsider and then 'move on'.
Much better now.
In fact Jon & Philipa have been fantastic tonight and carried the breaking news of two terrible atrocities very well.

The sooner BBC News ditch Gill Sans, the better. It looks horrendous, particularly on the ticker, and is a terrible choice of font for TV. Also they really need to lose the red, which just looks gharish to me.

Can't agree with that. Gill Sans, in the right weight, is a clear, stylish, and classy fount. The trick is to chose a weighting that works for the on-screen type-size, and text style (all caps vs mixed case)
The current "astons" used on News 24 for some straps (no longer generated by an aston?) are suffering from poor kerning and slight over compression horizontally (cl appearing to be d is one problem I notice) This is not a fault of the fount - rather the machine rendering it?
