News 24 Ticker

Well this is not ticker related but it's sort of related.

The graphics there were awful. The to the Key Points Graphic, points on the right person on the left. Only the LIVE dog shrunk as well so it was on the left with the reporter. The aston shrunk down but wasn't inline with the clock or anything.

And all the LIVE dogs aren't lined up with anything?!?!!?

yeah I noticed that this afternoon some time and thought it was interesting. What is going on?! Also noticed that they are using the ticker to update on the Hutton Inquiry (it came up during the sports news)

That looks like its because the graphics suite is adding all the graphics bar the Live bug and clock, and the main picture and gfx from the gallery has been pushed back and shrunk.

Yes - for the headlines during the recorded feature programmes and occasionally at other times - like Hutton updates during the sports news - as explained above.

I think you'll find that the story just broken is most definately 'breaking news' - and what a scoop for the BBC! They had time to break it fully on News 24 and then get Tom Mangold over to BBC One for the 10.

Sky are still covering the old news about the BBC!

Both BBC, Sky and itv were ahead of Fox & CNN though - there was a Fox Alert at 10 and now CNN are covering as breaking news.

How come Tom Mangold got this story - I thought he'd retired from the BBC?

Indeed, he has said some quite critical things about the BBC in the Kelly row.

And he's just been commissioned by Channel 4 to make a programme on the Kelly affair.
