Yeah I agree that the new red breaking news aston is better.

Is it me or have the presenters been a bit more relaxed in the last few days? Jane & Matthew were having a laugh about remembering temperatures around the country and Jon and Phillipa were on good form also. Good to see!

Yeah, yesterday Gillian Ni Cheallaigh (go on-challenge me on my spelling

) done a live link from somewhere in London about the heat wave, she was completely swamped with children screaming at the camera, Matt and Jane had to hand back and had a good laugh about it.

I think the changes they've made to the current ticker (can't remember what they call it at the mo) - the thing with some info appearing at the bottom of the screen - look really bad. The shadow beneath the text looks appalling and the looooong gap between one line being typed and the second really breaks your concentration.

am i the only person to have this problem?

The very small gap underneath some of the info astons looks terrible - though maybe this will be obscured by the ticker?

The text spacing on the astons is also less pleasing than before

The text has stopped flickering at least.

I hate the shaddow though and the new location strap looks dreadful now it's in Gill Sans Ultra Bold. It was nicer in normal Gill Sans. They never learn do they? tsk

Having caught a bit of the BBC World astons after 9:30 today - they're far, far, far, far, far better than the currrent N24 ones. I know everyone says this, but it's true dammit.

And as for the new breaking news aston - pink? Revolting.

It's funny that because there was one an hour earlier where lots of little kids were standing around at the back waving, and it all passed of smoothly, despite at any moment I though some spotty 15 year old was about to leap in front of the camera and shout "**** OFF" ...

They do ask for it sometimes though. Doing a live next to a load of excited kids.
