A slight digression, but still on the subject of last nights continuity,
when the Learning Zone started at 2am they showed the longer version of the LZ ident, including this frame, which ive never noticed before....

Lambie Nairn
29-7-97
and on another frame, it has the date 6-12-97.
Was one of these when the ident was released?

And the soundtrack to About A Boy (the interlude sections) is currently accompanying Ceefax on BBC2 (it followed a very proper closedown announcement too).

They're treating us good tonight!

I thought they had scrapped in vision Ceefax last month and gone for News 24 on BBC2? When did Ceefax come back?

I think it's News24 on Two when BBC One stays up late, otherwise if News24 is on One then Two gets PFC

We had a couple of anoraks on then last night! Nice to see the ident music faded out beforehand and the countdown going into N24 instead of crashing!

Well spotted on the pic, jonO. I'm surprised they don't always start LZ with the long ident. Timing's never an issue.

Laughing Well Ceefax isn't something I normally tune in for. It was just coincidence that BBC2 in the trailers before closing down when I turned the TV on.

I must have fallen asleep last night with the Telly on, but by some strange coincidence, I woke up bang on 2, looked at the bright light of the TV and it was the short skateboards ident with the 90 sec countdown. Really pleased I woke up just in time. Something must have told me it was coming.

Sorry Lee, didn't explain that very well - I was referring to those hidden away at TVC bringing us a decent closedown and countdown, not those who posted!

I've never seen live a full 90sec version of the current countdown either Katherine, but I did see a few of the old one (1999-2003).

I've seen an 87 after Breakfast one morning and an 88 one evening. Never seen a 90 though.

Breakfast seems to be finishing earlier these days - it always used to finish bang on 08:59:30, and so there was a 30 second countdown to the TOTH on News 24. Now, there is usually a 50 second countdown between Breakfast and N24. Is this because BBC One needs a few extra seconds?

I guess it's so they can fit in the National Lottery Daily Play result (is this lumped in with the others on Saturday? Must have about five sets of numbers to read out now!) Actually News 24 sometimes insert a trailer before 9 so you don't always get a long countdown.
