A really nice preview of BBC One in 2011 aired at around 12.15 too, looks like Masterchef has had a bit of a make over!
ya masterchef has got a new format as it said in the news last year

This went out on BBC News as well. Was it actually part of the fireworks programme? I kind of hope it was a mistake to stick a BBC One promo in the middle of the news but I can't work out how it would happen.

When did BBC News stop producing New Year Live on BBC One? It was credited as "BBC Productions" this year.
Also it's not really a bad thing that it's so short - I remember one year when they were in a boat on the Thames and they had a really dire lineup of guests, just in-house BBC types. Best just to come on and cover the display and be done with it - and better to do that than to just insert a live shot of Big Ben into a pre-recorded chat show as BBC One did for years and years.

Was it? An entirely different thing altogether, I mean. What did BBC News show if not the Jake Humprey programme? I watched on BBC One and I turned over to BBC News once the BBC One programme had finished and a 'BBC One in 2011' trailer came on. BBC News were showing the same trailer when I switch over which would even stranger if they hadn't shown the same programme as BBC One.
What is strange is that the version on iPlayer is called 'Part two' but there doesn't seem to be a part one.

Interesting setup on the iPlayer...
The BBC One programme is marked as not being available, but the BBC News Channel broadcast, which was an entirely different thing altogether, is available.

Here is the trailer by the way for anyone who missed it

I didn't see the full actual broadcast on BBC News, but their EPG specifically said at the time the programming ran from 11:30pm to 12:15am. This tallies up with the listing on the iPlayer, but the little portion I saw seemed to be more of a "normal" bulletin.
In fact now you've said that I'm wondering if I've somehow managed to skew my remembering.
