I think if it went into daytime they'd probably go for the Hotseat format to keep the prizes down - though that is only 30 minutes and ITV don't do 30-minute shows in daytime at all now.

A week of non-celebrity specials might be the way forward to reintroduce the classic format - and I think they should probably strip the format back to basics, so no clock and back up to 15 questions. The recent changes kind of missed the point as to the reason people were turning off - it was nothing to do with the money tree, the time spent on questions or it not being live - it was simply down to the public being sick of all the celebrity editions on a show where the basic premise is to give ordinary folk a chance to change their lives.

I see Chris Tarrant wants a return to general public Millionaire: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/news/a333682/chris-tarrant-who-wants-to-be-a-millionaire-should-be-open-to-the-public.html

I'd personally like to see this. I watched the last series for the first time in around eight years and enjoyed it thanks to the speed of the clock. I just don't think the live shows work - they're not produced very well and Chris Tarrant is, erm, shall we say, less competent live...

Perhaps the show should be axed from prime-time and find a slot in the day, perhaps up against Pointless?

If that did happen, it would probably go the same way as when The Price is Right was revived in 2006, put in a poor timeslot and messed around with.

I really don't understand this. Although I completely agree with you, Chris Tarrent has been doing live television and radio for years and has presented recorded WWTBAM for ages. Why is he suddenly so nervous? He was on The One Show last week and seemed fine on that too.

Maybe it isn't him then - perhaps the production crew are manic when it's being broadcast.

Being a guest on a programme is very different to presenting of course.

In the interview he did explain how different the live version is - for one thing the programme is reliant on the computer and if that goes wrong then they're I'd have thought that the lack of recording breaks would make the whole thing more stressful for all concerned

Tonight's LIVE WWTBAM Soap Star Special was better than previous live editions so far this year! Much less mucking about and getting on with the questions which was good!! However, it's still missing some key background music during the show etc....

Also 3 more couples to fit on tomorrow night's show and one couple only on qyestion 4 from tonight's show as well!!

Arrow And it's only an hour long as well!!! Laughing

I'm guessing Joe Swash has some kind of contract that means he has to appear somewhere on every gameshow/reality show since winning I'm a Celeb... He's turning out to be this decade's Phil Tufnell.

A small change to tonight's episode. It seems that contestants can now say 'Stop the clock' or something similar and the clock stops and they then select which lifeline they want to use. Previously when contestants or even Tarrent said 'Stop the clock' nothing happened (I don't know why they said it!) and they had to choose which lifeline to use while the clock was ticking down. This is a welcome change, it still keeps the pace of the first few questions but stops contestants and especially Tarrent panicking which we saw in previous episodes.

The audience competition to win Coronation Street crap was good, the constant reminder of the viewers competition was not.

Also, does the production company change it's name after each episode? It reminds me of some of the Endemol companies.

What is an Associate Producer and what do they do? I saw Lawrie Jordon listed in the credits with this job title this evening. Some members of TVForum will remember Lawrie Jordon leaving his presenting role at Avago a few years ago to 'work on Emmerdale'. Some members won't even remember Avago. Sad

Much better this weekend - as many have said, no constant chit-chat, although the missing music would still be welcomed. There's a lot of silence at the moment.

Did anyone else thing the question about iTunes logo was a bit inaccurate? It read something along the lines of 'which fruit is used for the logo of iTunes?' and the answer was apple. Am I being too technical by saying the iTunes logo is of two quavers and the company Apple's logo is of an apple? It's surely just the same as saying Microsoft Word's logo is a wavey window?

Not at all. I too thought it was bad how it was allowed to air.

Is tonight's WWTBAM Remembrance special LIVE or not?? I can't see any mention of it being live, neither on the website or listings - although there are some pictures going around of the celebs preparing for the show. Is this a return to the filmed editions?? I hope so. It won't be as frantic as it usually is with the live editions and there'll be all the background music hopefully.

Confused

Well they're not ramming it down our throats so I assume it's not live!

But seems to have been filmed as live because there are the usual lack of music cues and incorrect cues.
