Didnt notice anything different on BBC ONE NI. Shame there was no special programming on either BBC1 or UTV (I suppose, though, 9pm-10.30pm on BBC2 was filled with Blackstaff Sessions and One Night Stand - BBC2 showed the Schools Cup Finals live as well)
bbcsport is just a little dismissive of the amount of local material on BBC TWO Northern Ireland yesterday. There was 4 hours 15 minutes of local sport (all but half an hour of it live), 1 hour of local music recorded "as live" at the BBC Blackstaff studio, and half an hour of stand up comedy from the same location.
There was also around 2 and a half hours of displaced network material.
BBC ONE NI had a futher half hour of local comedy (though I'm not pretending I thought it was hilarious!). There was little room for any further local programming on BBC ONE NI owing to the Commonwealth Games.
That's 6 hours and 15 minutes of local programming from BBC Northern Ireland, not including news.
UTV, on the other hand, showed a half-hour pre-recorded Kelly interview.
UTV Live continued as normal from 5.30 - 6.30 with Planet's Funniest Animals from 5.00 - 5.30. And yes all the studio presenters as far as I know where wearing shamrocks
And wheeled out Sky High over Belfast too with the Rugby over-running.
That was a good show when it was on as a full half hour series, spoiled by thon Blakely woman blabbering on in her usual style about pointless stories no one was really interested in, spoiling fabulous aerial shots edited to soothing music.
Now, the shots themselves are cut to the music and used as fillers!

Yeah, I suppose I shouldnt knock it really. Was just comparing it to St Davids Day a few weeks ago, when BBC1 Wales ditched the live England match to show special programming from 7pm to 10pm. But I agree, BBCNI really should be given credit for their devotion to the MacRory Cup/Schools Cup finals every year, without fail.
And YES - Dry Your Eyes was hilariously funny! The heckler sketch was class. "Bo****ks!"
Plus the con presenter on BBC TWO wishing everyone a happy St Patrick's Day on the intro to the 4 hours of Schools Cup GAA/rugby. Didn't hear much from UTV!
