It would have worked well about 4/5 years ago when between 6pm and 7.30pm BBC Two would have been watched by alot of young people with programmes like The Simspons or Fresh Prince of Bel Air etc. But now I think little on BBC Two really attracts a teenage audience, that slot at that time would have worked, alá DEF II if anything...
Interesting how they will put this one into practice.
Well, if it's scheduled against T4 it would be rather pointless and defeat the object really.
Can't see them putting it on weeknights either considering "daytime" TV has now claimed the 6-7pm slot - and again, it's questionable whether putting it against the likes of Hollyoaks, The Simpsons and Home and Away would serve any purpose.
I actually think that if this is executed well it could be a success - BBC2 does have a slightly more classy image than C4, but that shouldn't necessarily affect any teen programming.
What I think would be interesting to experiment with is to actually have teenage newsreaders, reporters etc, who are able to make the news accessible but add a bit of gravitas to it.
If they have presenters on like T4 do- I think the obvious choice would actually be Angellica Bell because she was at CBBC for years and lots of teenagers of today grew up with her on kids TV
