I'm not sure why that would change your enjoyment of any programme if you didn't know that fact.
He was also in the first series of Not the Nine O'Clock News, and had a very good Radio 4 comedy series as well (People Like Us).
The comedy writing is good - should that one actor has been jailed mean that the material needs to be binned?

.
Certainly not TTOI was a superb programme. I was raising the view that some including myself would feel uncomfortable watching him. Everyone has the right to watch the show if they wish to.

Another programme worth watching if you can find it, is Worst Week Of My Life. There were 3 series and a Christmas mini-series, each one week in the life of a couple - the week leading up to their wedding, to the birth of their first child, and then to Christmas day. Each series is essentially a farce, with everything the lead character (played by Ben Miller) going wrong.

It's a brilliant series which i rewatched recently when it was shown on Forces TV.

One episode of series 1 has Chris Langham as a supporting character which maybe why it doesn't get shown much, but I personally don't find it a problem.

Indeed. It was such a shame what happened to him, he was in several really great and critically acclaimed series when he was arrested. He'd just started a show with Paul Whitehouse too

He has worked since, but understandably not many people are willing to employ him

Chris Langham was really at the height of his career when it all came crashing-down, after more than twenty years of plodding along, appearing in everything including The Muppet Show. He was also the male lead in the BBC sitcom Caroline Quentin which did quite well for a time, and was genuinely quite funny, even featuring Bill Nighy as Langham’s brother in a few episodes.

He’d won an award at the British Comedy Awards (Best Male Comedy Performance I assume), when he suddenly couldn’t attend and gave his acceptance speech over the phone. It all seemed seemingly innocent until- a few days later- he was arrested, and it became clear he’d presumably not attended as he was being investigated. A vast talent, though of course it means his material is now largely unrepeatable. But you can watch his TTOIs on Netflix I think, whereas others convicted in the last few years see their work completed vaporised (DLT for example).

People like us, written by a pre-twenty twenty/W1A John Morton was a pure deadpan acting masterclass by Chris Langham.
Should be repeated, never will now.

I have a load of the People Like Us programmes on mini disc. Must dig them out and give them another listen.
It was one of the funnier radio comedies of the time (1995-1997 according to Wikipedia).

On the subject of Chris Langham's trial, this YouTube video is hilarious for obvious reasons. (And, obviously, it could have been at anybody's trial on any subject - that's the beauty of it)

He took part in a "Shrink Rap" interview with Pamela Stephenson days after his release from prison which was fascinating and in some parts very disturbing.

Probably common knowledge already but he was in the first series of "Not The Nine O 'Clock News"
