I don't know if anyone has realised but it was become extremely hard to find DVDs of The New Statesman online, let alone in high-street shops. Looks like you can only buy them from like likes of eBay and Amazon.

Why is it that The New Statesman DVDs seem to be discontinued?

They should be widely available, they were released on DVD under GR//N/D/ and Cinema Club only in 2003 (I know as I have Series One) so really they should be widely available, the best bet is trying a really big HMV store in a major City.

Though VCI no-longer exists (VCI operated Cinema Club), does Cinema Club still exist?

Before anyone asks or mentions, there's no Yorkshire Liquid Gold frontcaps and only one endcap on the Series 1 DVD.

I bought my set from HMV not that long ago, and there were a few in there. Are they definitely none in your local shops?

And as mentioned, no Yorkshire frontcap, just one endcap too. Shame really. Great series though.

VCI does still exist, it's part of 2Entertain. The My Family Series 3 DVD still has the VCI Ident, with the2Entertain logo on the sleeve.

Does it? I thought VCI disappeared because of the merger. Though it can get slightly confusing after many years when Granada and Channel 4 start distribute their own DVD's rather than going by VCI.

is 2entertain not just a wrapper company for BBCW and VCI? The BBC videos they distribute still have the ribbons guff on them.
