New Sky Sports logo?

I don't think there's much wrong with the Sky Sports News set, it has a good backdrop of the Newsroom, the graphics need a refresh and a move from Tape to Server would be more than welcomed.

That's not as bad as I thought actually. I feared worse when I saw they were removing the gaps.

I can see those logos tying into their graphics package more easily with maybe some OTT animations, the previous logo was almost seperate from the rest of the package.

I would be more surprised if it did go 16:9. SSN in 16:9 with the current 4:3 safe graphics would look awful. It will take a complete re-imaging of the output to make the move to widescreen desirable.

I don't see the problem with a larger graphics overspill and widescreen video. Or they could revamp the graphics and have full frame video with semi-transparent graphics over it, a bit like Score only tidier.

Someone on Digital Spy said that the changes to Sky Sports News happen on Saturday morning at 7am.

Why I wasted my time on that forum I'll never know.

Personally I think the new look Sky Sports News will launch at 12.00 pm on Saturday. As it would save them altering the set on the Saturday morning.

As I understand it, new desk, lots of light boxes, new onscreen look.

The new gfx will have a "brushed steel" looking side panel and main bar, with the top row having diagonal tabs indicating the sport of the story in the box below. Bottom of the screen in a red ticker.

I know they're expecting to do Sports Saturday in the temp set this weekend.

I hope there are nice captures from Sky Sports News and the Sky Sports Channels over the weekend.

I would post some myself, but I have been without sky for about 3 months now thanks to a STOOPID FOOKING GREEN ASS TREE OUTSIDE MY FOOKING WINDOW WHICH THE COUNCIL HAS THIS YEAR DECIDED NOT TO TRIM BACK COS OF THESE FOOKING ENVIRONMENTALISTS!

Silly question but can't you get Freeview just for Sky Sports News, even with an indoor aerial?

Yea but cant capture from it as its an IDTV... Sky was connected to my PC you see...
