Any differences on Soccer Saturday today? Was at a game so didn't see any of it.

Same here, but I set my DVD recorder, and managed to obtain the following...

Cheers Rob, much appreciated. Only with these do we get a real picture of the new SSN studio, and IMO, it's looking great, and the Soccer Saturday setup looks very nice indeed.

Just out of interest is the generic SSN music used with SS? And anything done differently?

Out of interest, if they can do a shot like this on Soccer Saturday which is very impressive indeed then surely they can have a locked off or remote camera to cut to at the top of the hour, or as a different shot during interviews, it adds something different at least.

I like Sky Sports' new look, although it is a bit like the previous (including animations). Nowadays the style is modern, clean and muted after glossy, then ''high-tech'' complicated look. I am glad they got rid of the white background.

The only problem with it, is that when you're in the pub watching a big game, and they stick SSN on the portable, it's bloody difficult to see how your teams doing because its so dark...

There are quite a few changes in the upcoming season ...
.. Claire Tomlinson will be doing Goals on Sunday etc.

You mean the McCaffery and Kamara show is finally finished? Thank god for that.

Kamara will still be there, McCaffery (imo the more annoying of the pair) has gone to some Dubai sports channel for their Premiership coverage.

Rob McCaffery was not annoying he was a legend!
He made mid week football gr8

Strange right now on SSN. Don't know much about aspect ratios and the like so can only explain this way.

The whole feed has been squashed at the top and bottom, so there are big black bars at the top and bottom of the screen, and every so often, the feed flicks to a squashed picture with bars on the left and right too (14:9?) before flicking back. I know this isn't my TV set as the overnight DOG is also positioned far to the right of the picture, and part off-screen, so it doesn't completely cover the date and time.

Sorry for the poor explanation - in basic terms, everything's cocked up!

It seems they've sorted the vidiprinter out on Soccer Special. A new font is being used on it now. I've posted both for comparison...

Just to note the heavily criticised decision to move the scoreboard to the bottom left has tonight been reversed.

Any caps? (I've dropped SS2 in favour of Setanta Razz)

It's the same style albeit in Red rather than Blue and it appears to fit within the safe area.

Thank God they've changed it, it just didn't look right at all, I didn't mind the scorebar they used last season, I saw no reason for change.

Incidentally it was red because that's the colour used for the League and the League cup, while blue is used for the Premier League, FA Cup & internationals.
