Noticed a tweaked version of the Sky Sports logo appearing in the advertising hordings in the Asia Cup.

The current logo is:

The new logo looks something like this:

I think that's following on from those new DOGs that they've been using.

There are quite a few changes in the upcoming season, aside from having to compete with Setanta there'll be the new Saturday Night Football for the Championship coverage, Andy Goldstein will be doing Soccer AM, Claire Tomlinson will be doing Goals on Sunday etc.

In the past they've relaunched for the Charity/Community Shield, but I've got a feeling this time it'll be on the 11th when the Premiership & League seasons start. I wonder if Sky Sports News will get a refresh as well, and maybe even finally go widescreen.

Talking of the Asia Cup, I know the match coverage isn't Sky's (Would it be TWI produced?) but I did like the score/time graphic in the top leftish corner, and how the other in-match captioning was put in the same place.

Hope it gives Sky a few ideas for this season's live coverage...

You mean the McCaffery and Kamara show is finally finished? Thank god for that.
I've never liked the forced chummyness of the hosts who always wanted to put the match highlights (which may have been the reason most viewers were watching in the first place) at a lower billing on the show to that of their ego's and induging in banal sub-changing room talk with a bunch of slouching Ron Mangers who were just in Isleworth for their £1,000 apperance fee.

Kamara will still be there, McCaffery (imo the more annoying of the pair) has gone to some Dubai sports channel for their Premiership coverage.

From Granada (Regional news and sport) to Dubai via Sky - not bad for a relatively 3rd rate sports presenter

About time, they've had the same look for too long now, hopefully it might be a technical one too, between 11pm and 6am the picture quality is awful, as it's from tape AIUI.

16:9 or even HD?

Won't be HD or 16:9 to start with but won't be coming off tape anymore so picture quality hould be improved.

You mean the graphics won't flicker as they go to an ad-break? I think I shall cease to watch in that case!
