Fantastic graphics, it sounds good, look forward to it on tomorrow's game Smile

If you're talking about the Charity Shield, I don't think those graphics will be used.

It's the community shield now.

Anyway, the new graphics are being used. Blue is the big colour for the Premiership graphics instead of the white used in the FL graphics.

Are you the same person as you both joined on the same day (may birthday).

Have you not noticed that about 20% of the members on here joined on the 4th January, 2003? That was the launch date of the site.

Not the launch date, but the time the site crashed and all our profiles got wiped!

As has been mentioned, the Premiership version of the graphics features a lot more blue, mostly replacing the silver areas seen in the screencaps, but also some of the red as well.

I am so impressed with those graphics, they are a stylish design, and look professional compared to the last sets...

I notice alot of red and white, i wonder if this isnt some indication of these 3D graphics for Sky News, I guess its just a shot in the dark...

If Sky News got for constantly moving - backwards and forwards, up and down - straps like these, I can tell you now the first purchase I'll make that morning will be a roll of parcel tape to slap across the bottom of the screen. Fine for Sky Sports, when they're up for a couple of seconds, but not News. Red and white is probably indicative of the direction they're moving, though.

Sky Sports having to work hard with the pictures today. One half of the field is in bright sunshine, the other half looks really dark. The goal was quite difficult to see. Although saying that, the sun is shining behind my tv too.

I still love the Sky Sports look from 95-96, with the metallic-looking astons with "black-arrow-in-gold-circle" feature.

Try catching The Premiership Years, on Sky Sports (it has been shown alot lately) and when they show clips of old matches or interviews, they still show the astons/graphics that were used during that season.

Anyway I like these new graphics, certainately alot more clean and bright compared to the previous set. Just a shame Sky Sports' logos and idents can't be the same.

I haven't watched the whole thing but those astons certainly animate in smoothly with a nice little sound effect, too be honest the previous set were nice too, but this one remains me a bit of the graphics used on the Bundesliga, where there is a similar animation technique used to bring the aston in, so they have taken a little bit of that idea and added it onto these astons.

I don't like the stats graphics though, too plain for my liking on one line, and those graphics they used to promote the other matches haven't changed either.

But as other have said they really have a disappointing ident for a quality world class channel like Sky Sports, they really should have idents which befit their status as a world class sports broadcaster, their ident dosen't do justice.

BTW internationally were covered by the Octagon CSI team. Wink

I think they have slightly, actually. I'm sure the font is slightly different and this time the match that the presenter is talking about enlarges (Channel 4 style).

PS. It's a shame that page 2 of this thread had to be taken over by morose 'chit-chat' that no one, apart from the the two forumers involved, were interested in.

There's too much blue here, where the white is should be red and where it says Arsenal Subsitutions there should be a white background with dark blue text.

I assume the rest of the package (idents, Sky Sports News etc) will relaunch along with the rest of Sky's onscreen presentation later this year - or is it just Sky News that's being refreshed?
