I've got a quick question regarding the dish.

I'm moving out of this house in May, and I want to take the satellite dish with me. When I move to the new house, I'll have to re-position the dish. How do I know where exactly to point the dish without getting an expensive Sky man coming over! Smile

Get one of those finder things. Go to Sat Cure and take a look for yourself.

Nothing yet on my Grundig box. According to one of the rumours on Digital Spy (and you're welcome to take this with a bucket of salt), you'll be able to tell you've got the new software because the Help button will 'do something'. I'm guessing maybe it'll bring up an in-vision menu allowing you to switch subs (and maybe audio description?) on/off.

Also it's rumoured the software roll-out could take up to a month. There is still the possibility of course that this whole thing could be a big wind-up too. Confused

I don't think the download has started yet - it's possible they've run into a few bugs and so have had to delay it until they're fixed.

I'm actually hoping thats true, as the last couple of updates have been quite problematic on Panasonic boxes, causing a slow exit of interactive services, and the box to crash when it has a weak signal (such as in very heavy rain).

Nothing here in Amstrad land yet, either.

Nothing on the orignal Pace boxes (and they always seem to be the first to get the updates).

The new software is now available, got it on my Panasonic box.

Red dot time out, better parental controls, easy access to subtitles/narrative etc are all there.

What buttons are controlling things like the subtitles and narratives?

You press the "help" button and it gives you a "mini-menu" to switch them on and off.

All other new stuff is via additional system menu choices.
