How you do this?
IIRC, you switch off the box at the wall for 10 seconds or so, then switch it back on holding your finger on the Back Up button (the one on the box, not the remote). It can then take a good 10 minutes or so for the software to download.
I've heard that this can knacker up your box if it's getting a bit old, so not something to do regularly or if the digibox is on its last legs.

More likely it will be tomorrow, initially for Pace boxes, or you can try a force download.

Think I'll leave it thanks!

No, the box will use the software, even if Sky haven't sent the signal yet. Also, don't force an update if you know your box could go wrong or have a power cut halfway through it, it will make your box unusable.

Panasonic boxes I have known to work differently with all things Sky. It works on Pace boxes for sure. Don't know about the others but I have been told it works.

I've never had any problem (on an Amstrad box) with a forced download being stopped part way through.
All you have to do is start from the top again, holding the back-up button during power-up.
Mine's effectively had a power cut, when I've pulled the wrong mains plug out part way through; and I've also managed to unplug the LNB during a download without anything worse than a restart.
Some friends of mine have their set-up (Grundig box) on a canal boat and it's amazing what that will put up with, from the generator grinding gently to a halt in mid download, through to the bicycle trying to slip off the roof and knocking the dish into the cut.
