New Sky channels: Crime, Comedy, Documentaries, Nature

Although from looking a little bit at the channel(s) it does seem Sky Sport Germany is a bit of a mix, the sidebar was showing promotions for golf and F1 using our current branding style with the coloured backgrounds and corresponding SS Display font variants. And outside of news I think they do use our graphics set (at least for some things) just with the old logo style.

I'm guessing that if Sky Sport News is refreshing, the rest will be as well.

Isn’t it the case that Sky in Germany have adopted DVB-S2 for all broadcasts anyway, so everyone has an HD box regardless?

The majority of pay channels on Sky Germany are MPEG-4 / DVB-S2 regardless if they are SD or HD.
Some pay SD services remain on DVB-S transponders and are in MPEG-2 though, but not many.

Sky Sport News has just relaunched. Lower thirds/side bar have become white as I suspected earlier.

Interesting that the news text is smaller than the Sky Sport text. And two different Sky Sport logos on screen at the same time.

At the moment the other Sky Sport channels (e.g. Sky Sport 2) still have the old logos on their idents and DOGs.

Sadly they still do not have a proper long news wall, just the touchscreen behind the desk

Touchscreens on TV were a nice fad . . . for about 5 minutes, but why do they continue with them?

Why not just read the story and have the gallery show the appropriate graphic or video?

Is the new Sky Sports NFL logo part of the rebrand, with transparency on the Sky part of the logo?

Yep, thats the new logo, doesn't look great on dark backgrounds...

I wonder whether this is a whole new additional channel or whether Action or Arena could be sacrificed?
