Just had a further on demand mooch, the selection of programming on Sky Nature is phenomenal, with a broad range of items, virtually all of Attenborough's Sky Catalogue is present, as was offered 18 months ago in the iTunes TV store for around £33 for several series.

Sky Docs seems to be premiering the 9pm shows at 2am earlier the same day.

Sky have been doing that for a while now, I believe that's when they appear on demand

I think Game of Thrones on Atlantic started the trend for 2am premieres to get them on SVoD in the early hours of the morning as they premiere in the US.

It made sense with Game of Thrones but it doesn't make sense for anything else.

Is it not due to the ratings only being counted for On Demand content after the first showing, so they ‘premiere‘ in the early hours to allow daytime figures from On Demand to count?

I’ve watched Sky Nature’s first programme today on the Galápagos Islands and that was brilliant, plus I watched McMillions tonight on Sky Docs plus a programme about Brixham (not a million miles away from me) earlier today. It’s been very entertaining so far. I’m going to trawl the On Demand tomorrow to see what gems are there.

So far, I’m impressed!

How does the Love Nature content compare to the Sky originals?

Going back to when they launched the new logos in 2017, I remember Sky News were the last ones to adopt it, Sky Sports came first in the June/July. Then other channels switched over the rest of the year, before Sky News finally changed in January 2018. It could be that they've chosen to not switch however as it's only been 2 and a half years since the last rebrand??

I don't think they'd be able to execute a rebrand in this situation. The difference between these linear channels launching, the rebrands on all of the other channels and Sky News is that they don't have to be on air 24/7. Executing a rebrand right now, with all of the resources going into COVID-19 and the majority of it's staff working from home mean they're most likely not able to.

Thing is, it’s not really a rebrand. They’re just changing the way the “sky” part looks on the logo. It’s not as if the whole lot is changing.

Still needs someone to update the graphics even if it is a minor change - and wouldn't the ident need replacing?

Yep, lots of assets would need replacing in the gallery graphics engine, those which run the wall in the Glass Box, also in the TX suites... and that's before you go and do social media, online, podcasts, etc.

Better off not doing anything for now and going ahead with a wider rebrand (if one is happening...) when there is the capacity to do it safely. It is not helped by both galleries being in use for social distancing reasons (and VR pre-records) - normally you could take one gallery out of use and do upgrades and rehearsals there.

Sky History/H2 presentation is pretty much the same as before - the major differences being the use of Sky's font on captions, and the History idents ending with the new logo, rather than a full screen H (essentially still the same idents).

I’m under the impression A&EUK are still the operators of Sky History and Sky History 2 and it’s just a branding arrangement?
